Riding into the sunset with style and grace.
 
This painting was inspired by my latest black and white equine artworks.  I had an old painting that I was never happy with because it was unbalanced, but I loved the colours. So I decided to mix it up a bit and combine my older artwork with a monotone dressage painting.  The contrast of the monotone horse and rider and the bright sunset colours compliment each other beautifully.  
 
I used loose brushstrokes which created a sense of movement and artist freedom to this piece.  I added a hint of prussian blue rather than black and white for the horse and rider as I always feel the coolness of prussian blue enhances the warm colours of the background.
